About the Scholarship

The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program is sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund and administered by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC). The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program is intended to assist and encourage high school seniors from the North Texas, Houston, and San Antonio areas to pursue a degree at U.S. post-secondary institutions.

The funds will be allocated toward the payment of tuition and academic fees, and the purchase of required educational materials and books.  The school is the custodian of the funds and will disburse the award consistent with the purpose of this program.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • To apply for this scholarship, you must complete the online scholarship application form which is available on the official website.

  • You must submit the official high school transcript with rank and ACT/SAT GPA scorecards to determine academic excellence.

  • Additionally, you must give three letters of recommendation from a High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor. That must include a complete telephone number and email address for each reference

  • In addition to that, you must write an essay in 500 words or less on the topic "What Drives Your Dream?".

Award Amount and Deadline:

The Ford Driving Dreams Scholarship Program awards $2,000 scholarships to qualified high school seniors.

You must apply for this scholarship before February 21st, 2019. During the submission of a scholarship application, please make sure that all the above-specified documents should be submitted before the deadline date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a graduating high school senior.

  • The applicant must be a student planning to pursue full-time studies leading to a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university in the U.S.

  • The applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.

  • The applicant must have scored 20 or higher on the ACT test, or 1050 or higher on the SAT test.
