About the Scholarship

Louisiana Go Grant Scholarship is awarded by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) to those students who are in need of support, financially. Students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant can apply for this Grant.

The grant is given based on first come first serve system. Therefore, students are recommended to apply early in the year as the funding for the grant is limited.


Louisiana Go Grant Scholarship Awards

  • The grant is awarded respect to the package policy and location of the educational institutions.

  • The number of awards available vary every year depending on the funding.

  • The award amount varies from a range of $300 to $3000.

  • Full-time students who are attending 12 hours in the semester system and 8 hours in the quarter system are awarded an amount of $1000.

  • Students who are enrolled as half-time, 6 to 11 hours, received an amount lesser than $1000.

  • Recipients of federal aids except Federal Pell Grant are ineligible for this grant.


Louisiana Go Grant Scholarship Application

The application is available online. Students are expected to have completed all the FAFSA procedures before applying for the scholarship.

  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need and other documents.

  • The applicant must be a recipient of the Federal Pell Grant and the scholarship in hand can be renewed as long the applicant receives Pell Grant.


Louisiana Go Grant Scholarship Application Deadline

The application and other documents must be submitted by 1st March 2020. The students are advised to apply as early as possible in order to be on the safer side.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must qualify as a resident of Louisiana.

  • The applicant must be receiving either a Pell grant or another federal need-based grant.

  • After the Expected Family Contribution and federal grant money have been subtracted from the school expenses, the remainder must exceed zero.

  • The student must have enrolled at an eligible Louisiana school.

  • The student must be eligible for a federal need-based grant.

  • The applicant must be over 25 years of age.
