A mathematics degree is an evergreen as the demand for mathematical experts is across various kinds of industries all over the world. Pursuing a math degree gives you access to career opportunities in sectors you may never have even imagined and considered, including specialized fields such as in law or medicine. Moreover, a huge number of jobs in math majors are based within business or science and technology-related sectors, with math graduates occupying roles such as accountant, actuary, statistician, technician, economist, or market researcher.

How much Maths Major cost?

Several factors influence a program’s cost. On-campus programs are considerably more expensive as there are many different kinds of fees involved and also take longer to complete whereas the online programs are not that expensive and also don’t take a long duration for completing the course. However, whether you select web-based or in-person courses, the fees are something you always consider. For-profit colleges are known to regularly raise tuition whereas the nonprofit public schools which include the state colleges receive federal and state funding and relatively offer lower tuition fees. In contrast, private institutions are more expensive as they are funded solely through tuition and individual contributions.

Scholarships offered for math major students originate from a variety of sources including private corporations, state and local governments, individual university departments, and educational foundations.

Even if you’re planning on a career in business, technology, or another high-paying field, paying for your mathematics degree is still a concern. Beyond paying for your undergraduate degree, you may also be thinking about grad school. Since math majors tend to score above average on standardized tests for graduate admission, such as the LSAT and the GMAT, if you’re interested in graduate school, it may be less a question of whether you can get in than whether you can pay to go.

In addition to federal aid and the state and university math scholarships, you may also win a number of other college scholarships designed specifically for math majors. High school students who plan to pursue a career in mathematics and related fields can take benefits of a number of math, science and technology scholarships. NAACP and the National Science Foundation offer the National Scholarships while university-based scholarships are offered by schools such as the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of California at San Diego. The scholarships can even save you enormous amounts that range from $50,000 to $100,000! There are advantages also for the students who are interested in teaching mathematics as there are a  number of math scholarship opportunities.
