About the Scholarship

Marie Ferraro Scholarship is recognized and is sponsored by SUNY Buffalo State College that was established in the year 1871. SUNY Buffalo State College is dedicated to master in teaching, research, social activity, scholarship, ingenious activity, and cultural enhancement.

The Marie Ferraro Scholarship is available to candidates who have been accepted at Buffalo State as an undergraduate or graduate student, be enrolled full time, have declared a major.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • The first step towards applying for the scholarship is to fill in the FAFSA application form to determine a student's financial position to pay for their education.

  • Applicants must provide an official transcript along with tax transcripts to the financial aid division of the organization.

  • A student must maintain balanced academic performance and submit official high school transcripts to prove their excellence.

  • Candidates must demonstrate academic excellence and must be involved in community services.


Scholarship Award Amount and Deadline

  • This scholarship amounts to $1000 which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on the total availability of funds and the number of applications received for the current academic year.

All the necessary documents with application forms must be sent to the organizations no later than February 20, 2020, to be one among the eligible students to receive funds. Students are advised to keep a check on the deadline and submit their documents well advance.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant should be an accepted undergraduate student at Buffalo State.

  • A student must declare a major.

  • The applicant must be a single parent.

  • A candidate should have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher out of 4 to be eligible to receive a scholarship fund.
