Mary Jo Young Scholarship
Scholarship for high school students are the most common scholarships in grade level. High school students are planning to enter the higher education for the first time and likely don't have other sources of funding lined up. Scholarships for high school students are creating an investment in a student right at the beginning of the academic career. Mary Jo Young Scholarship is offered to high school juniors and seniors who participate in dual-enrollment programs at a Kentucky high school. Credits must be from a Kentucky college. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, a legal resident of Kentucky
Mary Jo Young Scholarship Amount
The amounts of the scholarship have not been determined yet but last year were up to $420 per course, with a maximum of two courses per semester, plus a textbook reimbursement allowance of $125 per course. Students who receive a 100% dual credit tuition waiver as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, the Kentucky Department of Education, and the Kentucky Office of Career and Technical Education may use their award to cover the $50 administrative fee that is charged directly to them
Mary Jo Young Scholarship Application Deadline
Submit the application form before July 15.2019. Make sure all the details are up to date. Early submission leads to rank first in the application pool. Students can apply from the official KHEAA’s website at www.kheaa.com
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen.
The applicant must be a permanent resident or a legal non-resident of the state of Kentucky.
The applicant must be enrolled in credit-bearing courses of study.
The student should belong to a minority group.
The applicant must have a low family income.
The applicant must be disabled.
The student must be in low-performing schools.
