About the Scholarship

Maryland Higher Education Commission provides Part-Time Grant to students who demonstrate a financial need while receiving postsecondary education.

The Part-time Grant is available to undergraduate degree students who are enrolled as part-time in a university or college in the state of Maryland.

Students who are enrolled dually in Maryland High School and a higher educational institution are also eligible to be recipients of the grant.


Maryland Part-Time Grant Program Awards

  • The grant amount ranges from $200 to $2000. A number of awards are given according to the funds received by the provider of the grant.

  • The recipient must be enrolled for 3 to 11 credits per semester.

  • The applicants should maintain good academic standing in order to be eligible to renew the grant program.


Maryland Part-Time Grant Program Application

  • The applicant along with the parents must have been the permanent residents of Maryland State.

  • The part-time undergraduate students must complete the FAFSA process.

  • The applicant must contact the financial aid office of the educational institution.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in a four-year or two-year university or college in the state of Maryland as part-time students.

  • The applicant must show financial need.

  • The university or college selects the recipients of the grant program.

  • The applicants must maintain good academic standing to be eligible to renew the grant.


Maryland Part-Time Grant Program Application Deadline

The FAFSA application process commences from 1st October. The application must be completed by 1st March.

  • Applicant must be a undergraduate student

  • The applicant must be enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year Maryland institution as a part-time undergraduate degree student.

  • The student should produce financial need.
