SAT is a multiple-choice test created and administered by the College Board. The purpose of this test is to evaluate a high school student's willingness to join college and also to provide colleges with one common characteristic that can be applied in order to compare the capability of all candidates.

It was introduced by the College Board in 1926 and its name and scoring have been changed several times since then.

This test covers educational skill areas which are as follows.

  • Math 

  • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 

  • Essay (optional)

  • Highest SAT Score‎: ‎1600

  • SAT Cost‎: ‎$46 and $60 if taking SAT with Essay.

  • Average SAT Score‎: ‎1060

  • Duration: 3 hours and an additional 50 minutes will be given if the student is taking the test including an optional Essay.

  • Most of the time, there will be a link on your chosen college page to scholarship information. Look out for SAT scholarships or merit scholarships (if there are any) on that page. 

  • Since there are many SAT scholarships, make a list of the requirements asked by the college or an organization for each SAT scholarship.

  • Then prioritize them based on 2 factors: how much you need to do or how excited you are about the college. 

  • Fulfill all the necessary requirements.
