About the Scholarship

Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship is accredited by the American Bar Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in the year 1988 to advance the understanding and improvement of law through research projects of unmatched scale and quality on the most pressing issues facing the legal system in the United States and the world.

Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship to introduce undergraduate students to the rewards and demands of a research-oriented career in the field of law and/or social science, as well as to guide the many career options under the umbrella of the legal profession.


What are the requirements needed while applying for this scholarship?

  • Students must submit two essays as described in the application form.

  • A current official/unofficial transcripts must have been submitted while applying for this scholarship.

  • A letter of recommendation should from a faculty member familiar with the student’s academic work

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this award.


Montgomery Summer Research Diversity Fellowship award amounts to

  • This scholarship provides a $3600 stipend during the period of the fellowship Living expenses are not provided, other than the stipend.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to 4 candidates each year based on the students meeting their requirements.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of February 15, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date.
