About the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded by the Montana Space Grant Consortium, a component of NASA's National Space Grant Colege and Fellowship Program. The members consist of institutions of higher education, business, industry, and non-profit organizations. They make every effort to encourage and attract participation by qualified students from the state's female and minority populations. This scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to students enrolled in fields of study related to NASA's mission.


How to apply for the scholarship?

  • The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the Montana Space Grant Consortium site. 

  • Along with the application, the application should also submit a typed statement of his/her educational and career goals and interests, official academic transcripts, at least one letter of recommendation.


How much the scholarship award amounts to?

  • The award amounts to $9,000 yearly plus in-state tuition of approximately $7,200.

  • This award is not automatically renewable. 


Deadline Information

The deadline date is set for April 1


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must have a 3.5-grade point average out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • The applicant must be a United States Citizen and must be faculty members, college instructors, or research professionals in a STEM field at an MSGC member institution.
