About the Scholarship

The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. (SALE) established to offer San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. Scholarships. Natural Resources-Excellence in Education Scholarship is awarded to incoming college freshmen at Texas universities. In order to apply for this award, an applicant must be a Texas high school graduate enrolling in a Texas college within 1 year of high school graduation. 


How to apply for this award?

  • To begin with this scholarship application all recipients must complete the online application form which is available on the official website.

  • All applicants are also required to provide their college/institution's transcript to determine academic enrollment and achievement.

  • A candidate must demonstrate participation in activities, internships, and experience related to the field of natural resource conservation in high school.

  • With that, if an applicant has obtained any honors, awards, and leadership skills then he/she has to demonstrate it by submitting the related transcripts.

  • A candidate has to write an answer to an essay question, that is given in the application form.

  • A recipient must provide recommendation letters from his/her faculty members.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The organization is funding $10000 per academic year for all eligible applicants.

The deadline date for this scholarship is 31st July 2019. All applicants are required to submit the scholarship application form on or before the last deadline date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a citizen of the United States with a valid social security number.

  • The applicant must be a Texas high school graduate enrolling in a Texas college within 1 year of high school graduation. 

  • The applicant must attend an accredited Texas college or university; no online degree programs.

  • The applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 per semester on a 4.0 scale each semester (not cumulative) of each academic year to remain eligible. 

  • The applicant must enroll for at least 12 hours per semester.
