About the Scholarship
New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) is financial aid provided by the state of New Jersey for the students who are in need of academic financial help. The grant is awarded by the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority and it attempts to cover the cost of tuition depending on the requirement.
Over the year New Jersey TAG program has helped thousands of students realize their dream of completing college by covering the tuition of the respective institution where the student is enrolled in the program.
Every year, almost 80,000 students are awarded this grant based on financial needs. Since its inception, the New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant program has tried to ensure that the students complete their education overcoming all financial hurdles.
Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) Application and Awards
Tuition Aid Grant is one of the nation's most prestigious and generous student grants and helps the students who are having lower EFC as mentioned in FAFSA norms.
The financial need is determined by the FAFSA rules.
This grant is applicable for students studying in the approved list of institutions.
Participation for some institutions is limited to only a few courses.
An amount which can range from $2,000 to $12,000 is awarded to the recipients of the scholarships.
The students who are full-time undergraduates enrolled in degree programs receive the grants which cover the tuition fee and gets renewed each year if the student meets the eligibility requirements.
- The reimbursement of the award depends on several factors, including financial need, cost of attendance and available funding with the organization.
New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant Deadline
The student must be eligible to apply for the grants. He/ she should fill out the FAFSA form available on the federal website before the New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant deadline, that is, February 15, 2020, for Spring 2020 semester only. The students have to verify that the FAFSA and New Jersey TAG norms are followed before filing the application.
The student should prove the financial need.
The applicant must either be a U.S. citizen who has lived in New Jersey for one year prior to the application.
The student should sign up for the military draft if required.
