About the Scholarship

The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) Poster Contest is open to Michigan students in grades 9 through 12. High school students are invited to submit 18” x 24” posters and have a chance to become involved in a world premiere auto show in Detroit while gaining experience in creative competition. The poster entries will be judged by an independent panel of recognized members of the local art community.


 How to Apply for this Award?

  • There is no application form for this contest. Students enter by submitting up to two posters for consideration. Posters must have an automotive theme.

  • Applicants must note that any posters containing brand-specific vehicles will be ineligible. All subject matter must be in good taste. 

  • Posters must contain "North American International Auto Show 2020", "Detroit", and "Cobo Center" copy. 

  • All posters must be two-dimensional, original art, and camera ready. Posters must be horizontal or vertical, mounted on matte board (or foam core, etc.), and measure approximately 18" x 24".

  • The back of the poster must contain the student's name, student's telephone number, student's address, school name, school address, school phone number, student's grade level, teacher's name, and principal's name information in the copy.


Award Amount and Deadline:

Prizes range from $100 to $1,000, based on the type of award. Sixteen awards offered annually. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.

The deadline date for this scholarship is 19th December 2019. All applicants must apply for this scholarship before the given date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The contest is open to Michigan students currently enrolled in grades 10 through 12. 

  • No shared work is allowed in the contest.

  • Two posters per student is mandatory.

  • The poster can be horizontal or vertical, mounted on matte board (or foam core, etc.) and measure approximately 18" x 24"
