About the Scholarship

The North Carolina Sheriff’s Association offers scholarship programs to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate program with major as criminal justice.

The North Carolina Sheriffs Association Scholarships is funded by the Honorary Citizen and Business members of the association.

The scholarships are awarded to students in order to improve the conditions at the law enforcement agencies of the state.


North Carolina Sheriffs Association Scholarships Awards

The eligible recipients of the scholarship an amount $1000 per semester, $2000 per annum. The scholarships may be renewed.


North Carolina Sheriffs Association Scholarships Application

  • The recipients of the scholarship are selected by the financial aid office of the university or college that constitutes the University of North Carolina the student is enrolled in or planning to enroll in.

  • The applicants are expected to complete the application form that is available in the financial aid office of the school and must be submitted there itself.

  • The applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from the Sheriff of the county the student is residing in the state of North Carolina.


North Carolina Sheriffs Association Scholarships Application Deadline

The application form must be submitted to the office of financial aid of the school student is enrolled in by 15th March without fail. The students are supposed to collect the application forms as early as possible.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Scholarship priority is given to the child or step-child of a North Carolina Sheriff

  • The second priority is given to a child or stepchild of a North Carolina law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.

  • Third Priority is given to a child or stepchild of a North Carolina Sheriff who is deceased or retired

  • Fourth priority is given to North Carolina criminal justice student with demonstration of financial need.
