About the Scholarship

P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is recognized and is sponsored by the P.E.O. The organization that was established in the year 1869, it was started with a mission of promoting educational opportunities for women, education continues to be the primary philanthropy of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was first started in the year 2009 to give grants to extraordinary secondary school senior women to go to an accredited post-secondary instructive foundation in the United States or Canada.


What is the application procedure?

  • A candidate must fill up the online application form that can be found on the official website
  • Students must demonstrate excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.

  • Students are required to demonstrate their financial need to meet eligibility.

  • The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form to determine that what scholarship he/she is eligible for.


Scholarship Award Amount

  • This scholarship award amounts to $2500 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered through this scholarship varies each year depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.


Deadline Information

All the above-mentioned documents along with the application form must be sent to the concerned department on or before the end of 

The applications are to be presented before the end of November 01. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the P.E.O website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must excel in academics, co-curricular activities, and leadership.

  • To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.

  • A candidate must be in the senior year of their secondary education.

  • A recipient must be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada and must be planning to enroll in an accredited university or college in the United States or Canada.

  • The applicant should be recommended by and receive the vote of a local P.E.O. chapter
