About the Scholarship
The scholarship R. Marlin Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition for Planning Students is awarded by the American Planning Association to encourage social equity, profession, and community involvement. The foundation has established this scholarship to achieve academic success by assisting the people financially for their academic study.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
- The scholarship application is available on the American Planning Association (APA) website.
- An applicant must demonstrate financial need for their education.
- In addition to that, applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation from their educational institute.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
This scholarship is awarded annually to students intending to pursue careers as practicing planners who will diversify the profession and who are able to demonstrate a genuine financial need.
The scholarship is open to law students and planning students writing on a question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law or environmental law.
The students are evaluated based on originality, contribution to the understanding or development of the fields of planning, quality of scholarship, and quality and organization of writing.
