About the Scholarship

San Diego Chinese Women’s Association awards scholarships the students of Chinese descent who are attending high school in San Diego County. The scholarship is awarded to both male and female applicants of at least one-quarter of Chinese descent. Two types of funding are available within this scholarship, one is for four-year university students and the other is for two-year community college or vocational program graduate. All candidates must maintain the minimum cumulative GPA as mentioned by the financial aid department.


How to Apply?

  • To be the recipient of this scholarship award, an applicant must fill out the scholarship application form which is available on the official website.

  • A student must provide the official documents of the college/institution where he/she is currently studying.

  • In addition to that, he/she is also required to demonstrate the academic GPA. Hence all applicants must submit their official scorecards of ACT/SAT.

  • Also, a candidate must give a letter of recommendation from his/her faculty member in order to receive this scholarship fund.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Organization is funding $1500 for four-year graduates and $1000 for two-year students per academic year. The award is non-renewable.

The scholarship deadline is given on 16th March 2019. All applicants must apply for this scholarship before the given deadline.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a high school student in San Diego County.

  • The applicant must be of at least one-quarter of Chinese descent.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited four-year university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited two-year community college or vocational program after graduating with a GPA of 2.5 or more.
