About the Scholarship

The San Diego Foundation Community Scholarship Program provides scholarship opportunities to the students to pursue their educational goals and achieve their higher education dreams. The Foundation encourages and continues to find ways to increase educational opportunities for local students, particularly from underserved communities. The students must be involved in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience. The scholarship award helps to pay for school expenses.


How to Apply?

  • The scholarship application form is available online by December 4th, 2019 on the official website. All applicants must fill and submit the online application form.

  • The applicants must fill and submit the FAFSA application form in order to demonstrate the financial position of his/her family.

  • In addition to that, an applicant must demonstrate academic performance by submitting the scorecards of the ACT/SAT exam.

  • Also, the candidates must provide the official transcripts indicating the college or institution he or she is attending.

  • Additionally, he/she is also required to provide a letter of recommendation from his/her institution's faculty member.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Foundation is awarding $5000 to deserving candidates per academic year. 

The scholarship deadline is on 15th February 2020. All applicants must submit scholarship required transcripts and online application form no later than the given date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a talented athlete or a student body president.

  • The applicant must be committed to pursuing a higher education.

  • The applicant must have good academic standing in college.

  • The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

  • The applicant must have shown remarkable participation in community service, extracurricular activities and work experience.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a financial need.
