About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the South Dakota Board of Regents mainly to honor the deceased veterans. Hence the South Dakota Legislature started a reduced tuition program for their children. For children who are eligible, a 100% waiver will be awarded. The waiver will apply only for tuition, and not for fees.
How to apply for this scholarship?
The applicant must complete the application on the South Dakota Board Of Regents website.
The candidate must fill up and print the E-12 Application form and submit it to the South Dakota Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The department will return the form and provide the required validation.
After the approval, the candidate must present the form to the university registrar's office
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award will provide a waiver equal to the cost of tuition at any South Dakota state-supported college. The award may amount to around $2743
The number of awards generally vary, but they are renewable for eligible students.
There is no set deadline while applying. Applicants should complete the application process prior to the start of the term for which he/she plans to attend college.
An applicant must be a resident of North Dakota.
A student must be enrolled at any program at Black Hills State University, Dakota State University, Northern State University, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, South Dakota State University, or The University of South Dakota.
A recipient should be a child of a deceased parent, who was a veteran for at least 6 months of the time period.
