About the Scholarship

The Seaspace Scholarship program is sponsored by Seaspace, Inc. It was established in 2009 by Seaspace Board of Directors and Benefactors to endow the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University as Galveston with the permanent education funds for investment, administration, and scholarship and grant awards.

The scholarship provides multiple annual scholarships to full-time graduate and undergraduate students in good standing pursuing a degree in Marine Sciences from Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Application Process

  • Applicants must fill online form available on the Texas A&M University at Galveston website.

  • Applicants can qualify for different scholarships based on the type of student they are such as Incoming, Continuing, or Transfer Students.

  • Students are required to fill out the FAFSA form.

  • Applicants are required to submit a personal statement describing his/her personal and academic goals.

  • A student resume should be submitted which includes any publications, honors and/or awards.

  • Students are required to submit all documentation before the deadline date to be eligible for consideration.

Scholarship amount and Deadline:

Students who are eligible for the scholarship can avail benefits between $500 to $3,000 annually, depending upon the quality of the work presented by the applicant. Each Scholarship available are on an annual basis and are non-renewable.

The applicants are required to fill in the scholarship application form on or before Friday, February 1, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible students are required to attend Texas A&M University at Galveston.

  • Applicants should be in 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate or graduate students to avail the benefits of the scholarship.

  • Students who apply for scholarship should be majoring in Marine Biology (MARB), Marines Fisheries (MARF), Ocean and Coastal Resources (OCRE) as an undergraduate student; or be a graduate student in Marine Resources Management (MARM) program or Marine Biology Masters or Doctorate program.

  • The Scholarship program is available for both International as well as US students.
