About the Scholarship
SHPE Chevron Scholarship program is given by SHPE Foundation to enhance and achieve the potential of Latino students pursuing degrees in engineering, math, and science. Merit-based and need-based scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students who demonstrate both significant motivation and aptitude for a career in civil engineering, computer engineering, and computer science.
How to Apply
Applications are available on the official website of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). In addition to the application, the student must have to submit a personal statement, official transcripts, a recommendation letter, and a resume.
This scholarship award provides $5,000 per year and is renewable.
The applications are to be submitted by the end of June 30, 2019. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements before the due date to meet eligibility. Applications and other related information are available online on the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Foundation website.
All the applicant:
Must be attending a university with an active SHPE student chapter in the United States or Puerto Rico.
Must be completing sophomore credit hours and entering the junior classification year at the time of application.
Must be of Hispanic descent.
Must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
Must major in civil engineering, computer engineering or computer science.
Must be enrolled full-time (12 hrs undergraduate) during the academic year.
