About the Scholarship
Sons of Italy Scholarship is accredited and is sponsored by the Saginaw Community Foundation. The foundation was established in the year 1984 to improve the quality of life in Saginaw County by linking donor interests with the community’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities.
The Sons of Italy is a fraternal organization that promotes Italian heritage, culture, language and the education of its membership.
The Sons of Italy Scholarship was established to promote education for Lodge 2456 members and their sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
How to apply for this scholarship?
The understudies applying for this award must present a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application form to determine his/her family position to pay for the education.
The candidates must demonstrate scholastic record, leadership, and involvement in community services.
Students must demonstrate need for financial assistance and must submit an essay.
Scholarship Award Amount
This scholarship award amount varies every academic year and depends on the total funds available.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies and are subject to change based on the number of applications received.
All the necessary documents and application forms must be submitted to the concerned department no later than February 15, 2020, to be one of the eligible applicants.
A student is advised to keep track of the deadline and submit all the above-mentioned documents soon.
An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
A candidate must be a member, child or grandchild of a member of Sons of Italy Lodge 2456 currently.
The applicant must be enrolled to pursue an undergraduate, graduate or vocational studies program in any recognized and accredited university or college.
