About the Scholarship

South Dakota Retailers Association Jerry Wheeler Scholarship Program is accredited by the South Dakota Retailers Association (SDRA). SDRA was started with a purpose to advocate, inform and provide services for our member businesses and to unify, protect, educate and lead the retail community and strive to enhance the business climate in South Dakota to enable retailers to better serve consumers. The scholarship program is named in honor of our former Executive Director, Jerry Wheeler, who started the program.


How to apply for this scholarship?

  • The students applying for this grant must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to receive this award.

  • Applicant must be enrolled in or planning to enroll as a full-time student in a retail-related course of study.

  • Candidates must demonstrate financial need.

 

South Dakota Retailers Association Jerry Wheeler Scholarship Program award amounts to

  • This scholarship program provides $1600 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies depending on availability on funds and eligible students.

 

Deadline information

The applications are to be submitted by the end of April 20, 2020. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other requirements before the due date. Applications and other information are available online on the South Dakota Retailers Association (SDRA). 


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a graduate from a South Dakota high school.

  • The student must be enrolled in a retail-related course at a technical institution or other trade schools.

  • The student should have scored GED in South Dakota.

  • The applicant should be pursuing postsecondary school in South Dakota.
