About the Scholarship
Golden Gate Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE-GGS) awards this scholarship to young Bay Area women graduating from high school and going on to pursue degrees in engineering and other related degrees.
SWE Scholarship applications are judged based on academic performance, community service, and leadership ability that seeks to find highly qualified and well-rounded individuals with a good commitment to pursuing engineering as a profession.
How to Apply for this Award?
An applicant must complete a scholarship application that can be found online on the official website and submit it with all the supportive documents to receive the award amount.
A student should also demonstrate scholastic achievement by submitting the official grade cards of ACT/SAT which proves student's academic excellence.
A student must exhibit excellence in their previous work experience, volunteer efforts, and involvement in extracurricular activities, especially with leadership skills.
A candidate must also submit two reference letters from teachers, counselors or employers and also he/she needs to write an essay about the topic given.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The scholarship award amount is $10000. The award amount is provided to all the eligible students and varies every year.
All the necessary documents must be submitted to the financial aid department on or before 24th March 2019, to be one among the list of deserving students to receive scholarship amount.
A candidate must be a female student who is a legally recognized citizen of the United States.
An applicant must be living or attending school in the boundaries of the Golden Gate Section.
A student must plan to pursue a degree at a four-year college or university in Engineering or Computer Science.
