About the Scholarship

The Southwest Parks and Recreation Training Institute is dedicated the award to both undergraduate and graduate scholarships in the fields of Park Administration, Recreation and Park Administration, Landscape Architecture, Recreation with a minor in Park Administration, Horticulture, Natural Resources or other related degrees as determined by the Relations and Scholarship Committee.


How to Apply?

  • All applicants must complete the online scholarship application in order to apply for this fund.

  • A student should determine the academic performance by sending the official scorecards of the ACT/SAT exam.

  • A student must also demonstrate that he/she has participated in community activities and contains leadership ability.

  • In addition to that, he/she must provide a letter of reference from college professor.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship award will include a $1,000.00 which is given to a trip to the 2017 Southwest Park and Recreation Training Institute and to all educational sessions, and a chance for graduate students to present their work at the conference.

The scholarship deadline is on 5 February 2020.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The scholarship is available to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Must be interested in a career in Park and recreation profession.
