About the Scholarship
The students of the state of Texas are provided financial assistance in the form of the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG) while pursuing an education at an eligible 2-year college in the state.
The students are provided the financial aid program by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to support them financially while attaining a degree from an eligible public community, technical or state colleges in the state of Texas.
Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG) Awards
The eligible recipients of the grant program may receive up to $5876 per year depending on the TEOG funding.
The students may renew the grant program on the basis of the eligibility criteria.
Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG) Application
The educational institution the applicant is enrolled in decides the eligibility of the recipient of the grant program.
The students are expected to have completed and submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TAFSA).
Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG) Application Deadline
The students must complete the FAFSA or TAFSA procedures before 1st January in order to be considered for the grant program. Any application submitted past the deadline will be considered invalid.
The student should be registered with the Selective Service.
The student should be approved as a Texas citizen by the institution.
The applicant should not have been convicted of a crime involving a controlled substance or a felony.
The applicant should not be receiving any Texas grants.
