About the Scholarship
Texas Military State Tuition Reimbursement Program is sponsored by the Texas Military Department. The establishment was built up to provide the Governor and the President with ready forces in support of state and government authorities at home and abroad. the State Tuition Assistance Program is an education benefit that provides money for college to qualified individuals from the Texas Military Department seeking their educational and career goals.
What are the basic requirements needed to apply for this scholarship?
The students applying for this scholarship must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to receive this award.
The candidates must have completed Basic Training (or its equivalent).
- Be pursuing:
- an academic certificate
- their first undergraduate degree
- their first graduate or professional degree

This scholarship provides $9000 annually Utilization is capped at five academic years or ten semesters.
The total number of awards offered by this scholarship varies but approximately 850 awards have been given in previous academic years.
The application deadlines by the end of December 01, 2020. Students are informed to submit their scholarship application and other required applications before the due date to meet eligibility. Applications and other required information are available on the Texas Military Department website
Applicants must be accepted and registered in a Texas qualifying college or university for a minimum of 3 semester credit hours. Part-time or full-time students are eligible.
Applicants must have completed Basic Training prior to the start of the semester. TXSG must complete BOT, RBOT or AIT.
The applicant must have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
