About the Scholarship

The high school graduate students of Colorado State who have Type 1 diabetes are awarded the Bradley D. Gendron Memorial Scholarship to encourage and support the students to pursue higher education.

The scholarship program is administered and awarded by the Diabetes Scholars organization to students who are enrolled in an accredited four-year university, college technical or trade school.


The Bradley D. Gendron Memorial Scholarship Awards

  • The scholarship program is awarded to one eligible recipient based on different factors.

  • The recipient of the scholarship receives an amount of $1000.

  • The scholarship amount can be used towards funding the tuition and fees and other educational expenses.


The Bradley D. Gendron Memorial Scholarship Application

  • The recipients of the scholarship program are selected by the scholarship committee of the organization on the basis of certain eligibility criteria and the application documents submitted by the students.

  • The online application form that is available on the official website of the organization must be completed with accurate details and information.

  • The students must submit an essay and two letters of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor and a physician or CDE treating the student.

  • The applicants must go through the application requirements and instructions given by the organization before starting the application process.


The Bradley D. Gendron Memorial Scholarship Application Deadline

The application inclusive of all the required documents must be completed and submitted to the scholarship committee of the organization prior to April 15th without fail.

No applications will be considered if submitted past the deadline or incomplete.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a high school senior with Type 1 diabetes.

  • The applicant must be pursuing higher education at an accredited four-year institution, technical or trade school.

  • The applicant must be a U.S. citizen 

  • The applicant must be a Colorado permanent resident
