About the Scholarship

The students who have served the nation in the United States Armed Forces or the dependent child, grandchild or a spouse of a U.S. Veteran are provided financial assistance to pursue higher education through scholarship programs by the Community Foundation of Sacramento Region.

The Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship program is awarded to Veterans or their dependents in order to improve their living conditions by attaining higher education and job opportunities as gratitude for service on active duty.


The Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship Awards

  • The eligible recipients of the scholarship program receive award amounts ranging from $1000 to $5000.

  • The scholarship program can be renewed by the recipients for up to 4 years on maintaining the eligibility.

  • The recipients of the scholarship are selected by the scholarship committee of the organization on the basis of certain eligibility criteria.


The Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship Application

  • The applicants must complete the FAFSA procedures before applying for the scholarship program.

  • The application form that is available on the official website of the organization must be completed with accurate information.

  • A letter of recommendation from a non-relative of the applicant must be submitted.

  • The verifications of the Veterans or their dependents as per the requirements of the committee.

  • The applicants of the scholarship program must be eligible to receive the scholarship according to the criteria.

  • The financial need of the applicants is taken into consideration.

  • The students must go through the instructions and guidelines given by the scholarship committee before applying for the program.

  • All required documents must be submitted along with the application.


The Graydon & Myrth Fox Scholarship Application Deadline

The completed applications must be submitted before March 9th without fail. Any incomplete or late submissions of the applications will be disqualified.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be pursuing a degree at an accredited institution or trade school.

  • The applicant must be a wounded Navy or Marine Corps personnel or a surviving spouse or dependent child.

  • The applicant must be a Veteran served honorably in the United States Armed Forces or a surviving spouse, dependent child or grandchild of a U.S. Veteran.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a financial need.
