About the Scholarship

The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students is awarded every academic year to a male applicant, who is a US citizen and attends an accredited institution in the United States. The applicants must major in one of the following fields Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematical Sciences. in order to get the benefit of this scholarship award. The applicants must stand good at academic results and maintain a cumulative GPA as specified by financial aid in order to receive this fund.

How to Apply for this Award?

  • A student should create an account using an email id and password to access the online scholarship application form.

  • An applicant must demonstrate financial need based on the federal poverty guidelines to get assisted by this scholarship fund.

  • A student should provide his/her official transcripts to indicate where he/she is studying in.

  • In addition to that, an applicant should provide a letter of reference from his/her faculty member

  • A student is required to provide an ACT/SAT scorecard to demonstrate academic eligibility as specified by the financial aid.

Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship award amount is $3000 awarded to twenty to forty eligible students per academic year.

The scholarship deadline is given as 31st May 2020. All applicants must apply for this fund using the online application form and official transcripts no later than the given date.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a male student majoring in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematical Sciences.

  • The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited university or college.

  • The applicant must be a member and an active participant of NAACP.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a financial need.

  • The applicant must be a high school or undergraduate student enrolled as full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.

  • For graduate students, the applicant must be a graduate student enrolled as full-time or part-time with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
