About the Scholarship

The Ira Mitzner Collegiate Boxing Scholarship is established in his name to award the students who have an active interest in the sport of boxing. The scholarship also helps the applicants to pursue an education and encourage them to develop the character needed to be as successful. Ira’s family has established this scholarship to honor a student who is an outstanding student or intelligent in academics, sports, community involvement.


How to Apply for this Award?

  • An applicant must provide a completed scholarship application in order to be part of this scholarship award.

  • A student should give a letter of recommendation from his/her current teacher or faculty member.

  • In addition to that, he/she also should provide a copy of current official transcripts of school or college where they are studying in.

  • A student must demonstrate the financial problem he/she is facing to pursue high academic education.

  • Official scorecards of ACT/SAT must be given to demonstrate the academic eligibility.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Organization is giving $10,000 to one deserving candidate per academic year.

The scholarship deadline date is fixed on 15th June 2019. All applicants must apply for this scholarship on or before the given date.

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a competitive boxer for a United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association member club.

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited four-year university or college as an undergraduate student.

  • The applicant must be a high school senior enrolled in an accredited four-year university or college.

  • The applicant must be pursuing to be a competitive boxer in the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association Championships and start a member club.
