About the Scholarship

The Jamaica Nurse Group of New York Scholarship is assisting the students of matriculated in the nursing program and completed at least two nursing courses. A scholarship is supporting the Jamaican residents who are in great need of finance. An applicant is required to be involved in community activities and schools’ professional organization to receive this benefit.


How to Apply?

  • A student must create an account with the username and password in order to access the scholarship application.

  • A student should write an essay that must state his/her professional goal, the reason for seeking assistance, how his/her talent and skills could be used after graduation to enhance the continued growth and progress of the Jamaica Nurses Group of New York, Inc.

  • A student should submit a copy of a current college/institution's official transcript.

  • In addition to that, he/she must submit two sealed letters of recommendation, one must be from faculty and one from community organization where she/he volunteers.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Organization is funding $1000 to only one eligible candidate annually.

The scholarship deadline date is fixed on 30th September.

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a native Jamaican resident on the student visa or living in the five boroughs.

  • The applicant must have Jamaican parents.

  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

  • The applicant must be matriculated in the nursing program and completed at least two nursing courses.

  • The applicant must be sensitive to patients’ needs demonstrate the need for financial assistance.

  • The applicant must be involved in community activities and schools’ professional organization.
