About the Scholarship

The James C. Borel FFA Leaders Scholarship is authorized by the National FFA Organization. FFA is a unique youth association that changes lives and plans individuals for Premiera admistration, self-improvement, and career placement through horticultural training. 

Established by private donors and DuPont Crop Protection to honor and recognize James C. Borel for his active participation, support, leadership and guidance to agricultural education, DuPont Crop Protection business and the National FFA Organization.


What are the requirements needed while applying for this scholarship?

  • Students are required to enroll as an FFA membership.

  • Applicants must show proof of community service participation.

  • Candidates must submit an essay of 1000 words about student's activities.

  • The candidates are educated to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this award.


The James C. Borel FFA Leaders Scholarship award amounts to

  • This scholarship provides $1000 annually which is non-renewable.

  • The total number of awards offered by this scholarship is limited to one candidate each year depending on the availability of funds and students meeting their requirements.


Deadline info

The applications are to be presented before the end of February 01, 2020. Understudies are informed to present their grant application, and other requirements are to be submitted before the due date. Applications and other data are accessible online on the National FFA Organization website.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be pursuing a four-year degree program in an area of agriculture.

  • The applicant must have good academic standing and public service involvement.

  • The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or more.

  • The applicant must have served as a chapter, state or national FFA officer.

  • The applicant must showcase exemplary leadership skills in their home, school, and community.
