About the Scholarship
Diabetes scholars offer The Jay Franke Scholarships that are open to high school seniors of four-year college/university living with Type 1 diabetes. The applicants must be studying in music, theatre or dance.
The organization also offers a set of scholarships with unique parameters like prospective major, geographic location, or excellence in athletics or the arts. The scholarship is not based on financial need, hence applicants are no need to demonstrate the economical assistance.
How to Apply for this Scholarship?
To apply for the scholarship, a student must first fill and submit the online application form and FAFSA application to the institution.
Recipients are selected based on their grades, volunteering, advocacy, leadership, essays. hence applicants need to demonstrate these all these to receive the fund.
A candidate must submit a letter of recommendation from his/her faculty member to get assisted by the financial aid division to pay for the education.
Award Amount and Deadline:
The scholarship award amounts to $5000 awarded to two eligible applicants annually.

An applicant must be an incoming freshman with type 1 diabetes.
A student must be pursuing an Arts Degree (music, theatre, dance).
A candidate must be enrolled in a four-year university or college.
