About the Scholarship

The Nigro Leagues Committee (NLC) of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is started an essay-writing contest for high school seniors. The NLC is the only one of SABR’s committees dedicated exclusively to the history of black baseball. Each year the NLC hosts a Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference.
