About the Scholarship

The JoAnn Heffernan Heisen Scholarship is Awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. The award is restricted to SU students who is a child of single-parent. The students must show good academic standing as well as they are required to demonstrate economical burden to pursue the academic studies. The awards will be a part of your financial aid package and will be disbursed to student Bursar’s account before the start of classes.


How to Apply for Scholarship?

  • To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must complete the scholarship application form.

  • An applicant should write an essay about your academic, personal and career goals. How will your study overseas prepare you to reach those goals? 

  • The Essay should not exceed 500 words.

  • Awards are funded based on financial need hence all applicants are required to demonstrate his/her family's financial position.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Organization is funding amount ranges from $520 to $2286 to four recipients annually.

All applicants are required to submit a scholarship online application on or before May 1st.

  • The applicant must be a child of a single parent.
