About the Scholarship

In memory of Kendall Bayne, the Foundation is granting its scholarship to a high school senior in the Roanoke Valley. The scholarship is available to current high school seniors who meet all the eligibility required to receive the grant. In order to receive this fund, an applicant must be good at academics studies and must involve in community services.


How to Apply for this scholarship?

  • In order to apply for this scholarship award, an applicant must provide a completed scholarship application form.

  • A student should give a letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well. 

  • A student is required to write an essay describing the topic “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” -Elbert Hubbard In 500 words, tell about a time you overcame an obstacle and made lemonade out of lemons.

  • In addition to that, an applicant is required to submit an official transcript of a college or institution where he/she has studied in.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The scholarship is funding $3750 to one deserving applicant per academic year.

All application materials must be postmarked by Monday, March 2, 2020.

 


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a current high school senior in the Roanoke Valley, including Roanoke County, Roanoke City, or Salem City schools.

  • The applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • The applicant must have demonstrated active participation in community service.

  • The applicant must submit a 500-word essay.

  • The applicant must be accepted to and enrolling full-time in an accredited, U.S. undergraduate program.
