About the Scholarship

The Pickard Scholarship Fund was established at The Dallas Foundation in 2004 to assist the students in Dallas County. Dr. Pickard was an optometrist and the founder of the Pickard Eye Clinic started this scholarship with his name. A student with a great financial need can avail this scholarship opportunity to overcome the economical crisis with respect to achieving high academic study. The scholarship award amount can be used to cover academic tuition, fees, or books.


How to Apply?

  • In order to apply for this scholarship award, a student need to create an account with the username and password to access the online scholarship application form.

  • A student needs to submit the completed application form to financial need.

  • In addition to that, an applicant is required to submit the official high school transcript where he/she is studying in.

  • A student must demonstrate academic eligibility as specified by financial aid.


Award Amount and Deadline:

The Foundation is giving $1000 to two applicants annually, and it can be renewable by reapplying to this scholarship program.

The Deadline for this scholarship application is 1st May 2019. The applicants must apply for this award no later than the given date.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an African-American male student.

  • The applicant must be graduating from a high school in Dallas County.

  • The applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA.

  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
