What is the Pittsburg Promise Scholarship(PPS)

Pittsburg Promise Scholarship is aimed at Graduate students in the Pittsburg. This Scholarship help students to complete their postsecondary education. Student can receive the scholarship if students meet the requirement with no competitive process.

Who can avail the facility of Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship

Students have to be necessarily residents of Pittsburg. They must have a minimum cumulative unweighted grade point average of 2.50 and also have to graduate from PPS high school and attendance record should be 90% or above.

How to apply for Pittsburg Promise Scholarship

  • Step 1 - Students need to log in to their portal that is promise student Portal

    • Once Students are logged in, Students will have to full fill the process:

    • Students need to change their password

    • Students need to Update their contact information

    • Complete their release forms

    • Review their eligibility status

  • Step 2 - By May 1st students need to mandatorily complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and PA state Grant.

    How much PPS amount to Students will be eligible for up to $5,000 per year, for four years of post-secondary education. Students who are eligible for Promise scholarship funds are also included tuition, fees, room, board, and books.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be enrolled in one of the Pittsburgh Public Schools since 9th grade.

  • The applicant must be the City of Pittsburgh resident since at least 9th grade.

  • The applicant must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or more from PPS high school with a minimum attendance of 90%.
