The students who are Pittsburgh Public School graduates are provided financial assistance for postsecondary education at a university, college or trade or technical schools by the Pittsburgh Promise organization.
The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship is an easily available scholarship to the graduates of eligible high schools according to the organization.
The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship Awards
The scholarship amount and the number of awards offered by the organization vary depending on the funding received.
The scholarship amount is directly sent to the university or college the student is enrolled in.
The amount can be used to pay the tuition and fees and other college costs.
The scholarship may be renewed based on the eligibility requirements.
The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship Application
The scholarship recipients are selected by the scholarship committee on the basis of the eligibility criteria set by the organization.
The applicant must be a graduate from one of the Pittsburgh Public Schools enrolling in an educational institution for postsecondary education.
The applicant must log in the Promise Student Portal on the official website of the organization and follow the instructions given while completing the application process.
The applicant must complete the FAFSA and the PA State Grant Form (PHEAA) before applying for the scholarship.
The Pittsburgh Promise Scholarship Application Deadline
The application process must be completed and submitted online on the official website of the organization by May 1st without fail.
Any application received past the deadline will be considered invalid.
The applicant must be enrolled in one of the Pittsburgh Public Schools since 9th grade.
The applicant must be the City of Pittsburgh resident since at least 9th grade.
- The applicant must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or more from PPS high school with a minimum attendance of 90%.
