About the Scholarship
Thomas E. Given Family Scholarship program was founded by the Community Foundation Shelby and it is available to the applicant who is in their high school.
The scholarship needs the recipient to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school. A recipient nomination for this scholarship award will be based on financial assistance, academic eligibility, and community involvement.
To be eligible for this scholarship award, applicants must create an account to complete an online application form that is available on the official website.
An applicant must provide a current high school and/or college transcript to prove their excellence in academics. High school students may electronically request their transcripts from their guidance office from within the online scholarship application.
In addition to that, Applicants must provide a list of school and community service activities they have participated in.
A student must also provide 3 letters of recommendation from faculty members. These can be electronically requested from the application form.
The college cost of attendance information must be given. This information is available in the admissions or financial aid sections of a student's college website.
Award Amount and Deadline
The foundation is awarding $4000 to all deserving applicants annually. These scholarships are renewable throughout an applicant's graduate study.
All official documents and scholarship application forms must be postmarked by 13th February 2020 by students to be eligible to receive the scholarship amount.
The applicant must be a resident of Shelby County, Ohio and a legal citizen of the United States or an eligible non-US citizen.
The applicant must be a Sidney High School Senior and intending to attend an accredited trade school or pursuing a 2-4 year degree at an accredited institution.
