About the Scholarship

The Veterans and their spouses are provided with financial assistance to pursue postsecondary or higher education in the fields related to arts, business, education, law, medicine, policy, and technology through scholarship programs by the Pat Tillman Foundation.

The Tillman Scholars Program is awarded to students in order to encourage and support the veterans and spouses who are ready to serve the country selflessly.


Tillman Scholars Program Awards

  • The students who are selected for the scholarship program are awarded $10,000 per year.

  • The scholarship amount can be used to pay the tuition and fees, books and supplies, living and other educational expenses.

  • The program can be renewed by maintaining the eligibility criteria.


Tillman Scholars Program Application

  • The applicants must be enrolled in an accredited public or private university or college as a full-time student for undergraduate, graduate or professional degree program in an eligible field.

  • The recipients of the scholarship program are selected by the scholarship committee of the Foundation on the basis of certain eligibility criteria.

  • The applicants must submit a resume based on the education, work, participation public and community service, awards, and achievements of the student.

  • A valid document of military service or community impact as a military spouse must be produced.

  • 2 essay answers for the questions asked must be submitted.

  • A recommendation on the character of the applicant from a third-party individual.

  • The applicants are advised to go through the rules and regulations and be prepared with the required documents.


Tillman Scholars Program Application Deadline

The application inclusive of all the required documents must be submitted to the scholarship committee of the Foundation by February 28, 2020, without fail.

Any applications received past the deadline or incomplete applications will not be considered.


Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant may be a veteran or active-duty military service member.

  • The applicant may be a current spouse of a veteran or active-duty service member.

  • The applicant must be enrolled at a U.S. accredited institution of higher education as a full-time student for bachelor, graduate, or professional degree.

  • The applicant can be from any branch of the U.S. Military including National Guard and Reserve.
