About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the National Business Aviation Association, Inc. to benefit undergraduates pursuing careers in business aviation management. Their main mission is to foster an environment that allows business aviation to thrive in the United States and around the world. This scholarship was created to honor the late Janice Barden, who was active in the aviation community. The scholarship is one of the several scholarships offered by NBAA to promote professional development and business aviation careers.
How to apply for the scholarship?
- The applicant must complete the application which can be found on the National Business Aviation Association site.
- Along with the application, the applicant should submit a 250-word essay describing his/her career goals in the business aviation industry.
- Official academic transcripts, two recommendation letters (one from a member of the aviation department faculty), a resume, and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to $1,000 per year and is non-renewable.
Five awards are offered per year.
The deadline date is set for November 30
An applicant must be a US citizen and requires the status of a permanent resident.
A student must be a full-time undergraduate registered in aviation-related courses at NBAA/UAA schools.
A student should be a sophomore or a higher standing.
A minimum of 3.0-grade point average out of 4 is required to be eligible to receive the scholarship.
