About the Scholarship
The University of Bridgeport established the scholarship to overcome the financial burden of a student by awarding the amount in terms of student loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study programs. The University is providing more than 35 scholarships some of them contain Fastweb, The American Association of University Women, Capital Scholarship Program and the Sallie Mae Fund. The award amount can be used to assist in textbook costs and tuition/college fees. Students must enroll full-time each fall and spring to avail this scholarship.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
In order to receive this scholarship fund, an applicant needs to fill and submit the FAFSA application form soon after October 1st but before March 1st. Which demonstrates a financial requirement for their education.
Based on the EFC the total cost of education is calculated to assist the financial need of a student.
A student needs to provide transcripts of IRS data.
What is the Total Amount Awarded?
The scholarship awards $8000 to any number of eligible applicants, the award amount is renewable.
All the documents required for a scholarship are submitted before March 1st.
An applicant must be a first-year student. Selection is based upon GPA, academic excellence, English proficiency, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
An applicant must also demonstrate athletic ability and need for financial support.
Applicants should be good in academics, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
