About the Scholarship
The Valley Press Club Scholarship is given to any high school senior from the four counties in western Massachusetts, who has applied to college and is committed to pursuing journalism as their academic major or minor. Areas of journalism focus can include news, sports, investigative, photojournalism, social media, features, health, and entertainment.
How to apply for this scholarship?
In order to avail the scholarship benefits, a student must log in to their account with a unique username and password.
An applicant must demonstrate the need for financial assistance as specified by the financial aid department.
In addition to that, he/she must provide an official transcript of a high school where he or she is enrolled in.
Additionally, you must submit a recommendation letter from the faculty member.
At last, a 300-word or less news story – not an essay – about yourself or an incident at school. If you choose to write about yourself it may be about one or more of your real or hypothetical experiences or career plans. If you are seeking the photojournalism scholarship, also describe, or include, two photos to illustrate the story.
The Organization is providing $1000 to scholarship eligible applicants every academic year.
All the documents mentioned above must be sent to the concerned department no later than 1st April.
Candidates must be from Massachusetts or northern Connecticut.
A student must be a high school Senior.
