About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, and organization that is the Commonwealth's coordinating body for higher education.
This is a state scholarship program that is a non-need based award available to all UG and graduate-level students.
This award program was established in the year 1972 to assist residents of Virginia who attend accredited private not for profit colleges or universities. The award fund amount is appropriated by the General Assembly.
How to apply for this award amount?
A candidate must first fill in the application found that can be found on the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant Program website or at the financial aid office of participating private institutions.
Completed applications along with FAFSA must be submitted to the financial aid office of the institution to determine a student's financial position to pay for the education.
Scholarship Award Amount
The award amount is based on the number of eligible students and the amount of funds available. Award amounts are for up to $3,300 yearly for undergraduate study and up to $1,650 yearly for graduate and these awards are renewable.
The deadline date is set for,
July 31, prior to the fall semester of enrollment.
December 1, for applications submitted after July 31.
Any application form send post the mentioned deadline will be disqualified and won't be considered for valuation.
An applicant must be a resident of Virginia as defined by the Code of Virginia.
A student must be enrolled in a full-time UG, graduate or professional studies.
An applicant must be enrolled in any institution pursuing a degree that is not in religious training or theological education.
