About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded by the Connecticut Community Foundation. An organization that was created by and for the people of Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills. They provide leadership in addressing the community's critical issues and strengthens local nonprofit organizations through grants and technical assistance programs. This scholarship was established by Jaycee members to support Waterbury students demonstrating exemplary community service.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The applicant should complete the application which can be found on the Connecticut Community Foundation site. The applicant can select all scholarships for which they are eligible for
Along with the application, the applicant must also submit, an essay of 1000 words or less on one f the topics listed on the application, official academic transcripts, SAT/ACT scores also preferred, reference contact information, copy of SAR that shows the EFC (Expected Family Contribution), and FAFSA.
How much the scholarship award amounts to?
The award amounts to approximately $2,000 and is non-renewable.
The number of awards offered varies every year.
The deadline date is set for March 15
An applicant must be a legal US citizen or an eligible non-US resident.
A student must exhibit good academic background, leadership skills, and community services.
A recipient must have at least 2.5 GPA out of 4 to be eligible for the scholarship.
