About Shorter University

Shorter University was established in 1873 and was known as Cherokee Baptist Female College. The college was renamed to Shorter College in 1877. In 1950, the school moved towards becoming co-ed, this came about college in getting a vast number of male applications.

On June 1, 2010, the name formally changed to the present name of the university as a move intended to perceive the establishment's development in recent years. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs across several majors.
