Walsh University is a private not-for-profit type institution which was founded in 1960 by the brothers of Christian instruction as Liberal Arts College. In 1993, the name changed to Walsh University.

Walsh University Campus Life

  • Walsh University Athletics - The university's athletic teams are known as 'Walsh Cavaliers'. They have both men’s and women’s athletics teams playing a variety of sports such as Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Softball and many more. Walsh University football team play their home games at ‘Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium’. The Basketball team won the NAIA National Championship in 2005. The women basketball team won the NAIA National championship in 1995. The men's baseball team advanced to the 2007 NAIA World Series for the first time in school history.

Course-based Requirements

  • Bachelor of Business Administration
    • Adult applicants must be of age 21 years or older
    • He/She should have 12 Acceptable Transfer Credit Hours
    • Should have graduated from an accredited high school or should have an overall score of 640 on the GED
    • Should have secured a minimum of 2.00 CGPA (on a scale of 4) on a minimum 12 credit hours of approved transfer credit
    • Walsh University even accepts transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges on a scale of C or better
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 500 based on the paper-based test, and 61 on the Internet test
    • The STEP test which is mainly administered in Japan can be taken in lieu of TOEFL. A grade higher than 2A is required

Note: If the applicant has scored less than the above-mentioned grades and is under 21 years of age then the Admission Counsellor will be happy to discuss the options for provisional acceptance.

  • Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • The applicant must be the graduate of an accredited registered nurse
      program, Diploma or Associate Degree
    • The applicant must have an unencumbered Registered Nurse License
    • He/She should have been well-versed in these subjects: Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Chemistry, English composition, and Social Science Electives
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 500 on the paper-based test, 173 on the computer-based test, or 61 on the Internet test
    • The STEP test (mainly administered in Japan) can be taken in lieu of TOEFL and a minimum grade of 2A is required
    • Minimum IELTS score of 5.5
  • Online Development and Training
    This program is offered by the Walsh University's School of Behavioural and Health Sciences through Walsh's School of Professional Studies.
    • The applicant has to transfer a minimum of 12-semester hour credits from a regionally accredited institution where he/she has maintained at least 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average
    • Adult applicants must be 21 or above to enter this program
  • Master's in Arts and Education (MAED)
    • The application form must be completed
    • Official Transcripts of graduation has to be sent from the applicant's college to Walsh University
    • A minimum of grade point average on the scale of 3.0 on a 4.0 is required
    • A minimum of CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 on the baccalaureate transcript
    • Applicants who meet the above requirements need not submit their results from the GRE or MAT, whereas applicants who do meet the above requirements have to submit their GRE or MAT test results
    • Applicants who hold a Master's degree from any of the accredited college or university need not provide their test results
    • A writing sample has to be given while returning the application booklet. This is required to assess the communication skills of the
      applicant. The writing sample must be completed in one typewritten page.It has been focused on the following topics [1) What characteristics does a successful teacher possess? 2) Why do you consider these characteristics important? 3) The applicant should attach a notarized affidavit of Good Moral Character]
    • The applicant should provide recommendations of three unrelated persons who are qualified to appraise his/her scholastic aptitude, personal and professional behavior
    • Should attend the interview with the Director of Graduate Education in the Division of Education
    • Copy of Teaching License ( If a Licensed Teacher)
  • Masters in Nursing
    • The applicant should submit the application duly filled
    • He/she should possess a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License and one year of experience is preferred
    • The applicant should produce official transcripts of a baccalaureate degree in nursing which should be accredited by a National organization for Nursing Accreditation (ACNE, CCNE or their equivalent). Transcripts must be in English and the credentials evaluated when appropriate. The transcripts should also document a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on the scale of 4.0 on all undergraduate coursework
    • Applicant should have completed an Undergraduate or Graduate Statistics course.
    • Two professional recommendation letters supporting the applicant's potential for success in the Master's program from graduate prepared nurses or faculty members should be provided. Applicants currently enrolled in any nursing program must submit at least one recommendation letter from the faculty members.
    • Curriculum vitae should be enclosed with your application summarizing all your scholarly skills, work experience, accolades, and awards.
    • A 1000 word essay which will serve as the basis for admission interview with the faculty and will be reviewed for the writing style and content. The essay must have reasons for seeking advanced education in the MSN program at this time in your career, Academic and career goals and how the MSN education will help you realize those goals, personal and professional attributes that will contribute to your success in the program, the essay should be typed in APA format and it will be evaluated both on the basis of writing and the balance between the stated goals and the program
    • Upon completion, the applicants who meet above requirements will be called upon for an interview with the Graduate Nursing Admission Committee
    • TOEFL score must be 500 or higher in the paper-based test,173 or higher in the computer-based test, or 61 or higher in the Internet-based test
    • IELTS score of 5.5 or higher
  • Masters in Business Administration
    • A Completed application form must be submitted
    • Official transcripts of all Undergraduate or Graduate colleges attended which should be directly sent from the colleges to Walsh University's admission office
