Azusa Pacific University (ASU) is a private not-for-profit institution founded in the year 1899 in Azusa, California.
The university is one of the largest Christian universities in the country. Azusa Pacific University is a comprehensive Christian university located 26 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The University focuses on providing quality and Christian education to its students.
The motto of the university is “God First” which appeared in the early part of the 20th century, reflecting the community’s desire and commitment that the institution remains spiritually alive and vitally Christian. Azusa Pacific University offers a Christ-centered, transformational education to prepare disciples and scholars to impact the world.
The university is organized into three colleges and seven schools and they offer more than 80 bachelor’s degrees, 51 master’s degrees, 25 certificates, 12 credentials, 8 doctoral programs, and 2 associate degrees.
Presently, there are 10,095 students enrolled in different programs and the student-faculty is 11:1 which means there is one faculty present for every 11 students. This ratio is considered the ideal ratio.

Azusa Pacific University is accredited and is recognized by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC, “the Commission”), a regional accrediting agency that serves a diverse membership of public and private higher education institutions throughout California, Hawaii, and the Pacific, as well as a limited number of institutions outside the U.S.
