New Mexico is a state which ranks in the bottoms on the list of quality of education provided. Though the state ranks less in quality, there is an immense number of Ph.D. holders in the state. This might be gained through online education or by migrating to other states for their education.
According to the reports given out by National Centre for Educational Statistics (NCES), there are approximately 12.9% of students who have enrolled in online education. Among this 12.1% of students are undergraduates and 84% of students were found to be living in New Mexico.
The total number of enrollments in the state in 2016 was 134,607. The total number of degrees awarded in 2015-2016 was 9,435 Associate's Degree, 9,183 Bachelor's Degree, 3,212 Master's Degree and 656 Doctoral Degrees, according to NCES.
Though the offline education is not leading much in New Mexico, the state leads in providing online education programs. The New Mexico Learning Network which got implemented is promoting schools and colleges in bringing virtual learning to all parts of the states, including the rural areas. There were around 20 colleges under this when the network was started. This is done to help the people living in remote areas to develop their creativity and skills. They make sure that the facility of online education is reached to all the parts of the state.
Universities in New Mexico offer different and variety of courses for online programs when compared to the other states. The best online colleges in New Mexico will have more courses when compared to the other colleges. New Mexico being a part of the Western Interstate Commission of Education, works to improve the quality and scope of higher education in state and other regions as well.
