Online Colleges in Oklahoma

Oklahoma is one of the south-central states in the United States and has the highest number of local students being enrolled in the country. The Oklahoma State Regents started up an initiative termed as 'Complete College America' to increase the number of degrees and certificates earned. This initiative was taken up to make sure that more than 70% of people who apply for the jobs have at least post-secondary educational qualification.

The state has analyzed and came up to the conclusions that introducing an online education system in all the educational institutions will be easy and flexible for the people to earn degrees and certificates. They have started up this initiative with collaboration with a handful of organizations.

As per the studies made by the National Centre of Education Statistics (NCES), there were around 66 degree-granting institutions in the state. It consists of 29 public institutions and 14 non-profit 4-year institutions. The total number of student enrollment in 2016 was 208,345. The number of degrees awarded in 2015-2016 was 12,027 Associate's Degree, 21,024 Bachelor's Degree, 6,576 Master's Degree and 1,662 Doctoral Degrees. The state provides financial aids for the students which can help them cut down their tuition cost. In 2013-2014, it provides around $84.7 million for need-based grants and $10.8 million for non-need based grants.

Oklahoma Distance Learning Alliance (ODLA) is one of the organizations in Oklahoma which has memberships of different central organizations, who collectively takes up the initiatives in improving the facilities for online education. These organizations focus on providing the best online colleges in Oklahoma. They make sure that the students get the best education and training through these online education systems. They work to share the best resources with their students to improve the facility of the online education.
